In this role you will work directly with our Lead Mechanical Engineer and department leaders across the firm.At Spees Design Build we valuetechnical excellence and client-focusedcollaboration to deliver service-oriented design solutions. This position offers the opportunity to shape high-impact projects that improve critical infrastructure and public-sector facilities across the United States.Preferred Qualifications:You have a bachelors degree in mechanicalengineering.You have 1 to 6 years of experience designing HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems.You have experience coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.You have experience with Revit and AutoCAD .You have experience with HVAC load calculation software.Trace 3D experience is a plus.You are familiar with state and federal codes and industry standards.Your LEED or WELL certification is a plus.Your leadership or management experience is a plus.Experience with federal design work and federal projects is a plus.Job Duties and Responsibilities:You will perform mechanical design tasks including: HVAC load calculationsVerifying compliance with building codes energy codes and various standards.Design calculations Space planning and equipment layoutsDesigning ductwork and piping systemsSpecification editing and reviewYou will visit project sites to gather design information and document existing conditions.You must be thorough and focused on design details.You must be comfortable with and proficient at communication with the internal design team and the client.You have a willingness to assist with any required tasks.You take ownership of the mechanical design scope of work for a project and ensure all project requirements are achieved.You coordinate and manage a small mechanical team to produce a high-quality deliverable while meeting project deadlines.You participate in activities and organizations related to our industry outside of daily business routines and develop peer relationships and technical growth.Essential Functions: Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periodsAble to lift up to 15 pounds at timesOccasional travel to various project sites for field investigation and construction inspection (20%)Authorization to work in the United States is requiredWhat SDB offers:Spees Design Build offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support the well-being and financial security of our team members.
