Sr. Model-Based Systems Engineer at Monterey Technologies

Our human-centered approach to problem-solving ensures that we understand the human dimension before recommending technology solutions.THE ROLE: MTI has an immediate opportunity for a talented Model-Based Systems Engineer. This role will be our SME for MBSE efforts within our small team located in Detroit MI. This position will be responsible for understanding the programs modeling approach and standards style etc. Will follow the laid out guidelines and incorporate Human-Systems Integration into the team environment. This position will need to be highly collaborative with a penchant for being proactive in engaging team members as they will be the integration point for the project. You will be part of a cross-functional Agile team working with other engineers and designers emphasizing human engineering aspects such as human modeling the impact of human performance on system performance and human system integration requirements Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo/MagicDraw and SysML to model system requirements architecture functionality components and behavior Be the primary interface to systems engineering for human engineering teams (e.g. HSI UX Training Safety teams); collaborate with these teams to incorporate human engineering aspects into the model Work independently on complex tasks collaborate with peers to achieve project objectives and mentor junior systems engineers Support activities across the engineering lifecycle such as requirements analysis functional allocation interface management trade studies verification and validation; develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts such as analyses ICDs plans reports etc. Collaborate effectively with other teams and customer representatives support major and minor system review events Your Skills/Qualifications: Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline Active DoD security clearance is highly preferred but ability to obtain and maintain will be considered US Citizenship is required for this position 8 years of demonstrated experience in a Systems Engineering role Experience developing large complex military systems Experience with SysML modeling in MagicDraw/Cameo or other MBSE tools preferably with experience modeling humans as a subsystem Experience with agile system development processes Understanding of the entire system engineering lifecycle and preferably including human engineering considerations Bias for action and collaboration Good verbal and written communication skillsSecurity Clearance RequiredDue to federal contract requirements applicants must be U.S. persons and eligible for a U/S. security clearanceNotice:Dont meet every single requirement Thats ok!At MTI we are dedicated to building an authentic workplace so if youre excited about this role but yourpast experiencedoesnt align perfectly with every qualification in the job description we encourage you to apply anyway.
