AsSr. Network Engineer I youll be experienced in supporting all areas of secure network technologies in a dynamic operational IT environment for our high-profile government customer including maintenance provisioning and deployment functions. You will use network monitoring tools to troubleshoot analyze and resolve technical problems. Additionally youll monitor ServiceNow tickets and network monitoring tools.We know that you cant have great technology services without amazing people. Value for our customers.If you think you can see yourself delivering our mission and pursuing our goals with us then check out the job description below!What youll do:Youll be responsible for evaluating maintaining and improving the network reliability availability and performanceYoull maintain and respond to alerts from network monitoring tools such as NeuralStar and SplunkYoull work with Cisco switch router and firewall infrastructure and technologiesYoull interface with customers to resolve network and connectivity related issuesYoull support the mission of the Department of State and Diplomatic Security through providing world-class IT support and customer-serviceWhat youll need to succeed:An active Top-Secret security clearance4-7 years of experience with experience managing the provisioning installation and support of network communications including LAN/WAN systems4-7 years of experience doing Cisco network switches routers and firewall technologiesUnderstanding of network communications standards and concepts to include:Physical layer media (copper fiber)Ethernet (switching spanning-tree media access-control (MAC) addressing)TCP/IP (UDP vs TCP subnetting DHCP gateway access-control lists)Higher-level protocols (DNS IPSec HTTP)Knowledge/experience in experience administering network monitoring tools such as NeuralStar and Splunk. ManageEngine experience a plusHands-on experience with Cisco equipment Switch router configurationAn understanding of working in a secure federal environmentA High-level networking and network security certifications: CISSP CCNA MCSE Security or equivalentSALARY RANGE: $110000 - $128000The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications skills and relevant experience.
