As a Sr. Principal Propulsion Engineer – Level 4 located in Promontory, UT, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.   Project Engineers are responsible for planning and execution of technical work supporting Development, Qualification, and Production of the Solid Rocket motors. The Sentinel PM&P / Aging Project Engineer will manage the technical scope and deliverables required to meet customer Parts, Materials, and Process (PM&P) requirements and execute the Sentinel SRM Aging and Surveillance strategy.  A fundamental knowledge of engineering concepts is required, as is a basic understanding of materials science, test, and production techniques.This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinate with both internal NG and external USG customersDevelop engineering execution plan to meet master schedulesLead Material Scientists in the development of test plans and coordinate testing and reportingLead the Sentinel Aging and Surveillance programAssemble efficient cross functional hardware teams to coordinate material and process choicesEnsure and document SRM compliance to all customer PM&P and Aging requirementsReview Manufacturing Bills of Materials and ensure compliance with Sentinel requirementsEnsure qualification static test objectives are met via coordination with hardware teamsCoordinate with Systems Engineering teams to ensure effective requirement decomposition and traceabilityIdentify and mitigate risksCoordinate and conduct deliverable reviewsLead problem and failure investigationsLead technical reporting effortsPerform presentations to internal and external customersTravel expectation: 5% – 10%Other duties as assignedWhy you? S. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
