Sr ServiceNow Developer / AdminLocationUS-GA-AtlantaID2025-10645CategorySoftware DeveloperPosition TypeRegular Full-TimeApplication Open Date12/3/2025DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to be the Subject Matter Expert for our ServiceNow platform serving our growing 2,000-person organization. This role is 70-80% hands-on development and configuration, with the remainder focused on solution design and business analysis. You'll partner with IT leadership on platform strategy while being responsible for all technical implementation. Following our recent implementation of ITSM and HRSD modules, you'll be working to stabilize and optimize our environment for performance, usability, and maintainability. You'll work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and personally develop and configure all platform changes. You'll be writing code, building workflows, and implementing solutions yourself while collaborating with IT leadership on platform direction. As our ServiceNow environment matures and expands, there is opportunity for this role to grow into greater platform ownership and leadership responsibilities, potentially including team building as we scale our ServiceNow capabilities.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Hands-On Development & Implementation (Primary Focus)Personally develop and configure all ServiceNow applications, workflows, and integrationsWrite custom business rules, client scripts, UI policies, script includes, and server-side scriptsBuild and maintain Flow Designer automations and Integration Hub connectionsCreate custom applications and modify out-of-box functionality to meet business needsConfigure forms, lists, UI actions, and user experience enhancementsConduct thorough testing, debugging, and quality assurance of all development workDevelop reports, dashboards, Performance Analytics, and data visualizationsImplement and maintain integrations with HR systems, Active Directory, and other enterprise toolsSolution Design & Business AnalysisCollaborate with IT and HR stakeholders to gather and analyze requirementsTranslate business needs into technical solutions and configuration approachesDesign scalable solutions that leverage out-of-box functionality where possibleChallenge and refine requirements to ensure optimal platform usageDocument solution designs and technical specificationsPresent solution options to IT leadership with recommendationsPlatform Administration & SupportManage platform administration tasks including user management, roles, and securityTroubleshoot technical issues and provide expert-level supportPlan and execute platform upgrades, ensuring customization compatibilityMonitor platform health, performance, and utilizationMaintain technical documentation and knowledge base articlesPlatform Strategy & Governance (In Partnership with IT Leadership)Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and maintain the platform roadmapRecommend enhancements, new modules, and platform capabilitiesEstablish development standards and best practices for the platformProvide input on platform priorities and resource allocationAdvise leadership on technical feasibility and level of effort for initiatives#LI-DH1 RequirementsRequired Experience5-7 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experienceProven experience with ITSM modules (Request, Incident, CMDB, Change, Asset, Knowledge)Multiple full lifecycle ServiceNow implementations from requirements through deploymentExperience working as a primary or solo ServiceNow resource in an organizationStrong background in business analysis and requirements gatheringTrack record of post-implementation platform optimization and stabilizationCertified ServiceNow System AdminTechnical Skills Expert knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and capabilitiesProficient in JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts)Strong experience with Flow Designer, Workflow, and automation toolsUnderstanding of ITIL processes best practicesSoft Skills & AttributesUS CitizenExcellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholdersSelf-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilitiesCollaborative approach with ability to build relationships across the organizationComfortable operating as the subject matter expert and being the "go-to" personDesire and willingness to grow technically and professionallyAdaptable and able to manage competing priorities effectivelyDesired SkillsExperience with HRSD (HR Service Delivery) and knowledge of HRSD best practicesExperience making architecture recommendations to Sr IT LeadershipExperience with ServiceNow reporting, Performance Analytics, and dashboardsIntegration experience (REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Server)Clearance InformationNO CLEARANCE REQUIRED Travel RequirementsLimited CONUS travel may be required in some casesAbout UsScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
