Job DescriptionSr Software Engineer Android/BackendNew Iron is leading the search for a Sr SoftwareEngineer to join a small team onsite in North Austin TX.Play a key role as the sole developer in the company balancing the challenge of keeping a complex highly-visible platform stable and high-performing while maintaining and supporting the existing core product platform with opportunities to implement incremental enhancements as business needs evolve.This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to take meaningful technical ownership and craft solutions in a unique technology domain.If you enjoy a small agile environment and are comfortable driving projects with a significant Android client component lets chat!Primary responsibilities:Design develop and expand both backend services and Android/Kotlin client featuresTake end-to-end ownership as sole developer of backend and Android/Kotlin projectsSupport core infrastructure and DevOps tasks including automation CI/CD and monitoring.Work alongside a small agile engineering team reporting directly to the CEO/FounderMaintain and troubleshoot production systems especially the Android client application resolve bugs optimize performance and implement stability improvements as top priorities.Required:9 years of software development experienceStrong foundation in Java C# and modern back-end frameworks.Experience building maintaining and optimizing cloud-based applications and working with cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure).Hands-on with databases and data-driven architecture (SQL/NoSQL).Previous experience implementing DevOps methodologies automation and CI/CD tools for ongoing system reliability.Ability to thrive as a multi-functional engineer on diverse projects and impact on both users and the companyAbility to operate in an agile entrepreneurial start-up environmentNice to have:Open and willing to pick up Android/Kotlin technologiesPrincipals only.
