What youll do:As a Backend Software Engineer specializing in Scala in a Kubernetes environment you will be instrumental in architecting and implementing scalable containerized backend solutions for our advanced trading systems. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems container orchestration and a passion for building resilient and efficient financial technology. You will work alongside NinjaTraders talented development team designing building and deploying back-end server solutions dealing with distributing large amounts of data.In this role you will:Design develop and maintain backend systems using Scala leveraging the power of Kubernetes for container orchestrationArchitect deploy and manage backend applications in a Kubernetes environment to ensure scalability availability and resilienceImplement and enhance microservices architecture for trading applications promoting modularity and maintainabilityDevelop distributed systems to support the high-performance and low-latency requirements of trading platformsImplement robust monitoring and logging solutions to track and analyze the performance of backend systems in real-timeIntegrate backend systems with various market data feeds ensuring accurate and timely data for trading activitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers UX/UI designers and other engineers to deliver end-to-end trading solutionsCreate and maintain technical documentation for backend systems Kubernetes configurations and deployment proceduresDirect contact with project managers to help deliver solutionsWhat youll need:BA or MS degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field7 years of software development experience with designing implementing testing and maintaining real-time applicationsProfessional experience with Scala backend software developmentExperience with Kubernetes and cloud services such as Google Cloud PlatformDependable team player with a strong work ethic exceptional accuracy good analytical and problem-solving skillsComfort resolving uncertainty and communicating for issue resolutionAbility to take full ownership (design implement test deploy maintain iterate) of projectsFinancial knowledge is helpful but not requiredCompensation:The salary range for this role will be $165000.00 - $190000.00 addition this position will also receive an annual target bonus of 12%. Bonus pay at NinjaTrader is based on individual performance (50%) as well as company/team performance (50%).Salary and bonus earnings are only two components of the total compensation package offered by NinjaTrader. NinjaTrader offers a 401K plan through ADP under which the company will match up to 3.5% of employee contributions. Annual paid time off allowance accrues at a rate of 18 days per year (some positions may qualify for more) plus seven paid holidays.Location:This role is based in Chicago IL. *There may be remote flexibility for exceptional candidates in the following states: California Colorado Florida Georgia Illinois Indiana Minnesota New York North Carolina Ohio Oregon South Carolina Texas Utah Virginia Washington Washington D.C.
