The Search Officer will work closely with site security leadership to ensure all safety protocols are followed and regulatory compliance is always maintained. Former Military and Law Enforcement will received first consideration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct and lead safety inspections, audits and incident reports/findingsCollaborate with site management and emergency response teams QUALIFICATIONS:25 years of age or olderLouisiana Drivers license (no flags or suspensions)TWIC card -active3 years of experience (Military or Law enforcement-must have supporting credentials)or 5 years in security via LSBPSEStrong knowledge of site regulations and refinery safety standardsExcellent communication and leadership skillsLOCATION: Baton Rouge Petroleum plantPAY: $18.45/ hr / pays weeklySCHEDULE: Full-time, may include nights, weekends and on-call responsibilities  FIRST INTERVIEW WILL BE A PHONE INTERVIEW. PLEASE HAVE RESUME UPLOADED SUPPORTING QUALIFICATIONS.Allied Universal® is hiring a Mobile Search Officer. The Mobile Search Officer will operate and screen all incoming delivery vehicles, to our customer's facilities, using the Vehicle Search Truck. The Mobile Search Officer ensures all vehicles and cargo are properly screened for explosives, hazardous materials, narcotics, weapons, or other contraband. RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct safety checksDirect the vehicle to be inspected to the proper location to perform visual inspectionObserve any traffic (pedestrians or vehicles) during the scan process and alert Mobile Search personnel of impending safety concernsOperate the Scan Drive system to navigate between the Search Vehicle and Target VehicleInitialize system electronics and X-ray machineEvaluate X-ray images to determine if hazards/contraband existDetermine which X-ray images will be archived, printed, or discardedFollow protocols in the event a suspicious package or improvised explosive device (IED) is found; close down operations, cease operations and evacuate facilityResolution of conflict upon encounter of a vehicle driver that is belligerent, offensive, or uncooperative; deny entry to the receiving docks if necessaryDeny entry to drivers without proper identification, drugs present in the vehicle, weapons violations, etc.Perform daily and weekly maintenance inspections of all required equipmentOperate Boom Control Box for travel and to deploy the detector and attach the safety gates.QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess one or more of the following:Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical or electrical field of studyMinimum of one (1)-year work experience utilizing X-ray technology in a security screening settingHigh school diploma or equivalentLicensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employmentMinimum of three (3) years of military, law enforcement, or security experienceEffective oral and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office ApplicationsActive listening skillsAssess and evaluate situations effectivelyIdentify critical Issues quickly and accuratelyWrite Informative, clearly, and accuratelyPlanning and organizing skillsProblem solving skillsEncourage effective teamworkMediate conflict with tact, diplomacyAttending to detailLeadership skillsAbility to cooperate and work with othersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree (Arts or Science) in Criminal Justice, IT, Security or General managementTechnical School graduate with an aptitude for automotive, mechanical, or electrical skillsMilitary experience as a police officer or any other field that emphasized observation and investigation skillsBENEFITS:Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insuranceEnrollment in our company's 401(k)plan, subject to eligibility requirementsEight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal daysVacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly.
