Estimated 1-5 hours per week scheduled around rehearsals and concerts.Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):To provide year-round logistical support to the ensemble conductor and the Music Organizations office in the areas of rehearsal and concert management.Transferable Skills:Initiative and motivationProblem solving troubleshooting and anticipationAttention to detailCommunicationOrganizationLeadershipResponsibilityMaturityCollaborationDuties and Responsibilities:Duties may include but are not limited to:Set and maintain a positive tone and spirit towards all work of the choirSet up as needed for daily rehearsals and performancesReserve rooms as needed for sectionalsAssist with audition process and preparations as requestedManage beginning of year robe fittings and assignmentsManage check-in and check-out of robes before/after performancesManage end-of-year robe inventory with Coordinator of Music organizationsAssist with attendance and maintaining ensemble rosterAssist with ensemble communication on behalf of conductorMeet with conductor and/or Music Orgs staff for work direction and planning as neededRead through and follow directions in work orders for concertsEnsure all choir equipment is properly stored returned and tracked between concertsMaintain discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive or confidential materialQualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)Current or incoming member of St. Olaf Chapel ChoirStrong leadership skills demonstrated at all times including positivity flexibility and problem solving respect for singers faculty and staffKnowledge of assigned choral repertoire and ensemble practices for the Chapel ChoirKnowledge of choral stage configurationsKnowledge of choral equipment and instrumentsKnowledge of scheduling practices for Chapel ChoirThis job description is for general information purposes.
