Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Support the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and review of general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP.

Prepare monthly financial statements along with other internal and external financial reporting deliverables.

Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, applying technical accounting knowledge to maintain accuracy and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.

Administer various compensation-related programs as assigned.

Maintain strong awareness of internal controls, segregation of duties, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, helping to implement best practices across the accounting function.

Develop, document, and update standard operating procedures related to assigned responsibilities.

Partner with IT and cross-functional departments on initiatives, system updates, and process improvements that impact corporate accounting workflows.

Assist in the transition and integration of western region accounting processes as needed.

Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc assignments as requested.

Essential Skills

2+ years of progressive accounting experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience using a medium to large ERP system

Proficient in Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with accounting, general ledger, reconciliations, bank reconciliation, month-end processes, journal entries, accruals, and financial statements

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment with two days remote work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
