Staff Accountant (CORP TX) at Modern Aviation

DescriptionAs the successful candidate, you will -Prepare entries and reconcile general ledger accounts while providing support to the Accounting Department and all Modern Aviation locations. Key Responsibilities -Complete a monthly review and reconciliation of general ledger account balances to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and established company guidelinesPerform various accounting functions including, but not limited to, journal entries and reportingAccount for fixed assets and intangibles including recording purchases, disposals, and booking monthly depreciation and amortizationAssist with lease accounting entries in accordance with ASC 842Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliationsSupport various tax filings (federal excise tax, income tax, property tax) for multiple locationsAssist with various audits throughout the year including the annual financial statement auditProvide support to the Controller, accounting team members, and General Manager's as neededPartner and provide necessary support detail to internal and external clientsResponsible for the adherence to. and communication of. applicable financial controls and policiesAssume additional responsibilities, to support Modern Aviation's evolving business objectivesQualificationsMinimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications -Four-year degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience Minimum of 0-2 years in accounting or finance rolesValid driver's license, required Working towards receiving a CPA, is preferredAbility to follow verbal instructions and written proceduresAdhere to established policies in accordance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirementsConsistently practice a high level of ethical behavior in handling confidential information Effectively manage time, be organized, and prioritize conflicting projects and tasksExhibit flexibility, willingness to learn new skills, and ability to work collaboratively with other colleagues Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially ExcelPolished verbal and written communication skillsRegularly demonstrate accuracy and a keen attention to detailWorking Conditions and Physical Demands - Constantly operates a computer and periodically move around the office to access office machinery, e.g., copy machine Minimum travel across the network Note: The statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to the job.
