Staff Accountant:
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 2-4 years of accounting experience to join our growing finance team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual coming from public accounting who is looking to transition into an industry role while continuing to build strong technical accounting experience in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial statement preparation, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Candidates who hold an active CPA license or are actively pursuing CPA certification are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial reporting activities
Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed
Support internal controls and accounting process improvements
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership teams
Assist with fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet schedules
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
2-4 years of accounting experience required
Prior public accounting experience strongly preferred
Active CPA license or CPA-track candidate preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP software
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Background:
Experience working with audit engagements, financial statement reviews, or compilations
Desire to transition from public accounting into a long-term industry opportunity
Strong attention to detail with a proactive and team-oriented mindset
