Title: Staff Coastal EngineerLocation: Corpus Christi or Rockport TexasJob Type: Regular Full-timeWhats the OpportunityAnchor QEA offers an opportunity to have a career with the premier employer in the coastal port and harbor engineering industry. Anchor QEA is a water related environmental and engineering company focusing on the protection and restoration of coastlines the development of port and harbor infrastructure marina improvements and navigation related projects. Experience with coastal engineering concepts such as beneficial use of dredged material shoreline protection living shorelines marsh restoration and engineering with nature and nature based solutions are preferred. Experience with water resources concepts such as hydrology water quality and dam removal are also preferred as is proficiency using CAD GIS and/or programming languages such as python.Anchor QEA is currently looking for a Staff Coastal Engineer with 0-3 years of experience in coastal engineering and design for our Corpus Christi or Rockport Texas office.Responsibilities:Support engineering design projects with a focus on the coastal environmentAssist in developing data collection plans for surveying geotechnical exploration and environmental dataConduct analysis and numerical modeling of coastal processes such as currents waves storm surge sediment transport morphology and wave-current-structure interaction.Perform engineering analysis preliminary and detail design of coastal and marine facilitiesAssist in developing plans specifications and construction documents on projectsPerform costs estimating on projects during the design phaseWork with sub-consultants and team members and assure quality control of work throughout project executionPeriodic construction oversight for regional projectsSupport report and technical memorandum developmentWhat Are We Looking For Ideal candidates will have the following:Bachelors degree in Coastal Civil and/or Ocean Engineering or related fieldDemonstrated engineering design experienceDemonstrated technical and analytical skillsDemonstrated technical writing and presentation skillsFamiliarity with industry standard analysis and design softwareAbility to be PE licensed in Texas within 4 years of hire.Post-graduate degree in Coastal Ocean or Civil Engineering with a focus on Coastal EngineeringEngineering design experience in ports harbors marinas boat launch facilities and/or coastal engineering or construction industryCoastal engineering design such as beach nourishment marsh creation living shorelines breakwaters bulkheads dredging and dredge material managementHarbor structure design such as jetties offloading structures berthing and mooring structuresCoastal resource agency coordinationDemonstrated teamwork and leadership skillsFlexibility to travel regionallyProficiency in MS OfficeAutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plusArcGIS experience a plusPython experience a plusCritical thinking and strong problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsWhat Can You ExpectA collaborative work environment where we encourage everyone to bring their authentic self.
