Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Staff Designer Responsible for designing and drafting civil engineering projects under the guidance of assigned staff. This includes site layout, utility design and profiles, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management. Responsible for the production of civil engineering documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements, and site adjustments. The Staff Designer would occasionally have interaction with employees outside of their department, rarely have interaction with clients, rarely interact with the public (agencies, government entities, etc.), and rarely participate in selling to clients. The Staff Designer is expected to project a professional presence, representing the Company and the department in a positive light, and have advanced level of software knowledge of at least one (1) engineering software package. This role is not required to have a Professional Engineering license.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform CAD drafting of engineering designs and preparation of final engineering plans;Manage the production process to include research, and completing the technical design tasks to result in high quality deliverables to internal and external clients;Assist in preparing construction documents for public and/or private projects from conceptual design to final design, under the direction and supervision of a professional engineer;Establish good communication and working relationships with team members and clients.Strong desire to learn, ask questions, and maximize knowledge in the field of Civil EngineeringWilling to do what is required for the successful completion projectPerforms other related duties as assigned.Qualifications, Education, & ExperienceStrong knowledge of CAD and other related design tools.Develop baseline knowledge of state and local regulationsRequired Skills/AbilitiesPREFERRED - Three (3) years of experience with AutoCAD in civil engineering field with a demonstrated proficiency in the layout, drafting and design with engineers' oversight Preliminary Site Layout Design experience preferredResponsive and results-oriented individual that is willing to learnDemonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team membersDemonstrated ability to schedule work to meet deadlinesPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Must be able to travel to various project sites.Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.About The Kleingers GroupThe Kleingers Group provides design solutions for a wide range of public, private, institutional, and corporate clients.
