Redwire / Loadpath has a current opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer (willing to consider all senior levels) to join our advanced design team located at our facility in Albuquerque, NM. We are a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team that innovates space mechanisms, multi-payload launch adapters, structural testing, deployable composite booms, high-strain composites, metallic structures, deployable space structures, R&D engineering, spacecraft thermal management components, and thermal analysis. Summary It is expected that you may not know all the answers at first, but that you are eager to find them! This includes a desire to learn new skills and concepts and apply your prowess to solve our customer's most difficult problems and invent new solutions. (If it were easy, they would do it themselves.) This is typically done by drawing on your fundamental understanding of the mechanical world and then exercising your artistic creativity to rearrange existing technology into novel applications and sometimes inventing entirely new technology. This position will focus on developing state-of-the-art structures and mechanisms for satellites, launch vehicles, and missile defense applications. Some examples include but are not limited to general spacecraft mechanisms, hold and release devices, solar array drive assemblies, deployable radar arrays, gimbals, multiple payload launch structures, deployable satellite antennas, rocket bodies fins and structures, ground support equipment, test equipment, and their supporting documentation.
