You'll take ownership of developing a significant part of the Onos platform, such as our user-facing application and APIs. As an early team member, you'll be expected to wear multiple hats, including acting as a frontend developer, UI/UX designer, and backend developer. This role is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, where you'll be expected to work at our office in person at least once a week.What you'll be doing at Onos:Leading the development for our end-user web application, used by healthcare administrators and providersArchitecting and implementing major platform components to provide actionable insights and recommendations to health plan administrators and support robust workflows related to addressing fraud, waste, and abusePrototyping new features and use cases for demos and user feedbackEstablish engineering best practices and technical foundations for future team growth and AI-enabled codingHelp shape our technical roadmap, make key architectural decisions, and influence the company's product and design strategyTechnical Challenges At Onos:Develop a flexible and robust UI/UX that supports many types of use cases and data sources related to administrative healthcare workflows and include intelligent, actionable insights.Implement functionality related related to machine learning pipelines that ingest complex medical standards, analyze medical records and automate recommendations for clinical reviewersIncorporate human-centric AI user experiences, in which the UI/UX enables users to build trust with the use of AI in our productsDesign and implement high quality user experience while upholding high security and privacy standardsTech Stack:At Onos, we work with a modern tech stack where you'll have the freedom to evaluate and adopt cutting-edge technologies as we scale.Languages/Frameworks:Frontend: Typescript, NextJS, Tanstack Query, Shadcn UI, Zod, NuqsBackend: Python, Django, django-ninja, django-tenantsDatabase/Storage: PostgreSQL (AWS RDS), S3Infrastructure/Systems: AWS (ECS, Bedrock, Cognito, etc.), Docker, Github ActionsDevelopment Tools: Github, Jira, CoderabbitAI, TuskWhat we're looking for:5+ years professional experience building end-user web applications at product-driven companiesProficient with web and backend technologies (e.g., React, Python) and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL)Customer obsessed and motivated to make an impact in the healthcare spaceHigh user empathy and the ability to develop frontend UI/UX with minimal guidanceA collaborative team player with attention to detailBonus points if you have:Significant experience working with healthcare data and with HIPAA best practicesDeveloped design systems and made frontend codebases maintainablePlayed the role of an architect on major full stack software projectsBenefits and PerksFlexible hybrid arrangement: 1-2 days/week at San Francisco office (financial district), remote-first cultureUnlimited vacation policyPaid parental leaveMedical, dental, and vision insurancePre-tax commuter benefits401(k)Significant equity as an early employeeGround-floor opportunity to help build a team and cultureRegular team events and offsitesCompany-provided equipment and home office setupWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
