Description and FunctionsOpen Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The WyomingGame and Fish Department is seeking a one (8) month position that will assist the statewide spawning crewwith egg/gamete collection from wild populations of salmonids walleye and captive hatchery salmonid brood stocks. Help with planning and conducting the annual helicopter fish stocking operations. At times this position will also assist with statewide fish hatchery tasks which may include routine hatchery chores construction projects grounds maintenance loading and stocking fish.Human Resource Contact:Dezzaree Schott /ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.Duties will include but not be limited to capturing and spawning wild fish using a variety of capture methods including electro-fishing trap nets in-stream weirs and gill nets.Assist with spawning research data collection and data entry.Be a self-starter and at times comfortable working alone.Using a variety of hand tools power tools and other equipment.Servicing and maintaining tools and equipment.QualificationsPREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:Preference may be given to those with a high school diploma and one year of experience in fishery and wildlife management or college course work towards a degree in fishery and wildlife management biology or ichthyology. Preference may be given to those who attach a resume and cover letter with their online state application.
