As a Tutor, you will assist students individually and possibly in small groups, helping them understand educational concepts, complete assignments, and prepare for tests. Your goal is to help students to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is reliable, understanding, and has a passion for education!Tutoring not only helps the students you work with, it helps you get a deeper understanding of the material, it looks great on a resume and it is very rewarding when your students achieve the results they want.Responsibilities:Help a student learn Stat 200 at Penn StateAssess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordinglyOffer guidance and support to help students improve their test-taking skillsCreate a positive and engaging learning environmentQualifications:Previous experience in higher education teaching or tutoring is preferredStrong knowledge and expertise in the subjects mentioned above, receiving an A in the classGPA of 3.2 or higherExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning stylesPatience and the ability to motivate students to achieve their academic goalsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
