Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSouthall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The Steward manages the daily cleanliness of kitchen operation. Areas of responsibilities include dish room operations, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance, banquet plating and food running. Performs duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment are in a clean and orderly condition.Responsibilities:Sweeps and mops floors throughout the course of the day.Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, hoods and cutting boards.Removes garbage and places it in designated containers. Hoses out garbage cans.Washes pots, pans and trays by hand.Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks for the dishwashing machine.Assists with prep work such as washing and peeling vegetables.General up-keep of the kitchen, back dock and hallway.Dry or polish dishes before putting away in proper location.Organization of all equipment and puts it back in the proper location.Follow all sanitation, equipment handling, chemical usage, and safety procedures.Actively show respect for the product coming through our doors as well as your fellow co-workers. A positive attitude must be exhibited even during the most trying times.Skills and Experience:Minimum of 1 year in the industryAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsIndividuals are organized and uphold the standards of Southall FarmsConversational Spanish is preferred but not requiredEducation and Requirements:Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 poundsAvailable to work weekends, evenings and/or holidaysAbility to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environmentMust be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods as neededThe ability to do precision work using hand tools or work aids to work, move, guide, or place objects or materials. Requires considerable dexterity of hands and fingers to do detailed work in a consistent manner.
