DescriptionWhat We Are Looking ForBaylor University is seeking a Baylor Sciences Building Stockroom and Laboratory Assistant. The BSB Stockroom and Laboratory Assistant supports the efficient operation of the Baylor Sciences Building (BSB) centralized stockroom loading dock and shared research facilities. This position ensures timely receipt tracking and distribution of laboratory materials; provides customer-facing support at the stockroom window; monitors consumable usage orders supplies and helps maintain a safe clean and functional laboratory environment for shared facilities.An Associates degree and one year of relevant work experience are required. A Bachelors degree and one year of relevant work experience are preferred.All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.What You Will DoReceive inspect and log all inbound deliveries to the BSB Stockroom (general lab supplies chemicals packages) and facilitate their distribution to building occupants at the stockroom windowCoordinate with vendors and delivery drivers at the loading dock to ensure proper documentation shipping labels and that temperature/hazard-sensitive items are managed and distributed correctlySupport re-order and re-stocking workflowsProvide direct support to faculty staff and student researchers by obtaining supplies providing basic resource/equipment training and serving as a first point of contact for issue resolutionSupport routine cleaning maintenance and testing for assigned areas as trained including for equipment in the sterilizer facility and shared resources in life science laboratories (Vivarium and MBC)Intake chemicals into the campus inventory system including bar-coding and hazard labeling as directed by EHSAssist waste coordination and related compliance logs for the department including for autoclave testing and general equipment usePerform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors missionAbility to comply with university policiesMaintain regular and punctual attendanceWhat You Can ExpectAs part of the Baylor family eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical dental and vision insurance generous time off tuition remission and outstanding automatic retirement contributions.
