Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: 46,500-58,000Store Manager River District ArtisansWhere creativity, community, and inclusion come together.River District Artisans, a social enterprise owned and operated by The Arc of Southside, is seeking a creative, people-centered Store Managerto lead the daily operations of our Main Street artisan center in downtown Danville, VA.River District Artisans is unlike any other shop in the region. We showcase high-quality handcrafted items from local community artisans andfrom our in-house artisan team supported through The Arcs inclusive employment program. This position is ideal for someone who loves retail, cares about community, and thrives in a creative, relationship-driven environment.What Youll DoAs Store Manager, you will:Oversee daily store operations and ensure a warm, inviting, and visually appealing shopping experienceSupervise retail staff, direct support staff, and in-house artisans who create soft goods such as quilts and custom embroideryBuild strong relationships with consignment artisans and community partnersParticipate in the development of a marketing plan and be responsible for implementing social media, online sales, and outreach activitiesLaunch and manage online sales platforms to grow visibility and revenueCoordinate inventory, consignment processes, artisan payouts, and product displaysCollaborate with downtown businesses, tourism partners, and community organizationsHelp make River District Artisans a vibrant, inclusive community destinationWhat You Bring35 years of retail experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or management roleExperience in consignment, artisan goods, boutique retail, or the creativity to learn quicklyStrong customer service skills and an eye for visual merchandisingComfort with technology (POS systems, social media, basic office software)Ability to build relationships, communicate well, and lead a teamA positive, can-do attitude and a genuine commitment to inclusionPreferred:experience with online sales platforms (Shopify, Etsy, Square Online) and social media contentWhy This Role MattersRiver District Artisans was created to model what inclusive employment can look like at its best.
