Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Automotive Store Manager is a key contributor to the team, responsible for driving the overall performance and profitability of the store by collaborating with vendors, suppliers, customers, and associates. This role manages an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost control, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. The Store Manager ensures that the daily technician schedule covers all sold repairs in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining a full and balanced schedule. The goal is to maximize efficiency, revenue, and productivity, focusing on customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of store operations, including sales, ordering parts, inventory control, managing schedules, and customer serviceDevelop and execute strategies to enhance sales performance and increase profitabilityMaintain communication with customers regarding the progress and status of their vehicle repairsProvide training, guidance, and motivation to staff to meet sales goals and deliver exceptional customer experiencesAnalyze sales metrics, technician time, and productivity to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as neededReview inspection reports from technicians to ensure quality and accuracyEnforce adherence to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across all areasOversee cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy and accountabilityMaintain a clean and organized store environment to enhance the customer experienceEnsure a clean and safe working environment for all employees and customersMaintain a professional appearance and treat all associates with respectUnderstand and adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local regulationsLicenses and Certifications:ASE Certification (Preferred but not required)Valid Driver’s License (Required)Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent educationThree (3) or more years of automotive service advisor/writer experience, including store management and supervisory experienceKnowledge of:Automotive service, maintenance, and repairsMS Office productsGeneral business acumen and financial reportingPoint of Sale (POS) software and computer utilizationADP Workforce Now experience (beneficial but not required)Skills and Abilities:Experience in retail management, including sales management and shift supervisionAbility to hire, motivate, train, and supervise staff effectivelyDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a teamAbility to manage team productivity and efficiencyProficient in multitasking and prioritizing tasks efficientlyFamiliarity with cash handling and basic accounting principlesKnowledge of inventory control best practicesStrong CRM engagement skillsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingHigh level of honesty and transparencyConflict and problem resolution capabilitiesWillingness to participate in in-house training programsGood driving recordPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when assisting within the shopRegularly required to talk and hearFrequently required to stand, walk, and sitOccasionally required to bend, stoop, reach, crawl, and climbMay be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other conditions typical in a service repair environmentPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
