JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategic Negotiator II, Data Center Leasing and Investments

Google's infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.

As a Strategic Negotiator supporting Data Center Leasing and Investments at Google, you will be on the front lines of securing the physical infrastructure that powers Google's global products, including Google Search, Google Cloud, and AI innovation. This is a high-impact role requiring deep expertise in data center real estate, complex commercial negotiations, financial modeling, and the ability to drive multi-million-dollar transactions from market analysis to contract execution. This role provides essential execution and analytical support for securing the physical infrastructure that powers Google's global products, including Google Search, Google Cloud, and AI innovation. You will be responsible for maintaining transaction pipelines, organizing critical deal documentation, and supporting the team's financial and market analysis efforts for colocation leases and development projects globally. Your work will directly contribute to the team's ability to deliver data center capacity quickly and efficiently.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $126000 - $180000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support for real estate transactions (leases, agreements, contracts). This includes assisting in the assembly and preliminary review of draft documents, coordinating redlines with Legal and Finance partners, and managing the official execution and filing of final documentation.
  • Maintain and update the global transaction tracker, ensuring all key agreement stages, milestones, and critical dates are current.
  • Monitor deadlines and assist the team in ensuring the timely development of capacity delivery.
  • Conduct basic research to gather market data, pricing information, and engaged reports.
  • Accurately input transaction-specific and financial data into tracking systems and simple financial models to support ongoing analysis.
  • Assist in preparing internal presentations and business case summaries by formatting data and creating slides.
  • Schedule meetings and manage communication logistics to ensure coordination between the agreement team and internal partners (e.g., Technical Infrastructure, Energy).
