We are hiring a driven, enthusiastic, and global-minded Strategic Planning Associate to work in a fast-paced Upstream Marketing Team. This role will be focused on supporting the assessment, analysis, and execution of marketing priorities and strategic planning across the Pelvic Health (PH) product portfolio. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Global Strategy, Growth, and Portfolio Development.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Conducting analysis to identify and quantify headwinds and tailwinds impacting the urology and gynecology business landscape and determining how these forces could impact Medtronic's business interests.
  • Quantifying the impact of Medtronic marketing activities (inclusive of commercial campaigns and medical education) to calculate metrics such as return on investment and using those metrics to make recommendations for future marketing activities.
  • Preparing presentations and supporting materials to align Pelvic Health marketing leaders with the marketing strategy, supporting core team phase reviews, and the annual PH strategic planning process.
  • Building deep expertise in current and adjacent disease states relevant to male and female pelvic health as well as therapies related to the Pelvic Health Operating Unit's core technologies.
  • Understanding the direct and indirect competitive landscape which may include accessing the threat of newly generated clinical evidence data, recent technological advancements, and changing market dynamics which could impact the PH performance and growth.
  • Generating opportunity assessments for business development activities.
  • Identifying areas for operational excellence and process improvement within the PH marketing team to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Analyzing and summarizing key customer needs through: Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Business (VOB) research which may include passive engagement with current and potential customers, and internal stakeholders via advisory boards, industry conferences, one-on-one engagements, and third-party market research.
  • Developing relationships with internal sales personnel to understand their perspectives, their needs and their ideas to inform PH strategy and program requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Nice to Have

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other quant-based systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Management, Finance or a related field; Master's in Business Administration or Master's in Health Administration is a plus.
  • Experience in consulting, medical device or healthcare adjacent industry.
  • Leadership or project management experience and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategy and business development experience including portfolio and product planning.
  • Experience interfacing with health care providers both individually and in working group settings.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$80,000.00 - $120,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
