Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary:As head of strength and conditioning, this person is responsible for oversight of strength and conditioning and for creating and administering sport specific training programs for student athletes for a variety of varsity athletic teams.Essential Job Functions:Design, implement, and oversee sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for all varsity sports teams.Conduct group training sessions and create weight room lifting schedules that focus on improving athletic performance, injury prevention, and overall fitness.Supervise assistant Strength and Conditioning specialist.Collaborate with head coaches and athletic trainers to develop and adjust training programs based on team needs, performance goals, and injury status.Maintain accurate records of training programs, athlete progress, and performance metrics.Develop and implement strategies for injury prevention and rehabilitation in collaboration with athletic trainers.Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and contribute to departmental goals.Bi-monthly inspection of all strength training pieces and free weight equipment and report any repairs or replacements to director of the fitness center.Monthly maintenance/lubrication to strength training machines.Qualifications/Prerequisites:COMMUNICATIONStrong written and verbal communication skillsSKILLSComputer/word processing skillsStrong interpersonal, and organizational skillsCustomer service orientedAbility to multi-taskAbility to maintain confidentiality Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive and equitable Albright community, as described in Albright College’s Inclusivity and Equity Statement.EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCEExperience with development and management of strength training programs at the college/university level is preferred. EDUCATIONBachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology or related field.LICENSESApplicant must hold a nationally recognized Strength and Conditioning Certification, NSCA, CSCS and CPR/FA/AED Certification.
