When you join Virginia Mason Franciscan Health you become part of a team that delivers top-quality professional healthcare in modern well-equipped facilities and contributes to a legacy of service built on collaboration and shared purpose.Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThis job is responsible for coordinating the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) Stroke Program at one more hospitals maintaining a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to stroke management across the care continuum with the expectation of quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes as measured by national and evidence-based standards of stroke care. An incumbent develops trains and leads one or more interdisciplinary teams that will provide treatment during the acute stages of stroke and also provides education to health care professionals and community groups to: 1) raise stroke awareness 2) promote understanding of stroke risk and the urgency with which stroke symptoms must be assessed / treated and 3) address stroke prevention and the latest treatment options available across VMFH.Work may also include obtaining and maintaining certification as a stroke center through one of the recognized agencies specific to the assigned work site(s). This certification incorporates the full range of current innovations and knowledge in stroke prevention assessment early identification treatment strategies rehabilitation secondary stroke prevention and community education.Work requires professional nursing knowledge and experience sufficient to provide clinical expertise and support for acute stroke management. A complex level of knowledge of patient care standards/practices that incorporate current stroke nursing standards regulatory requirements best practices outcomes research and advances in technology is required.Program development and sustainability oversight for the assigned stroke program(s).Coordinates the development implementation and organization of the VMFH Stroke Program within a specified geographical area or defined set of hospitals.Collaborates with the regional stroke team (e.g. Region Stroke Program Manager other site-based Stroke Program Managers Stroke Medical Directors etc) to develop system-wide Protocols/Clinical Pathways/Order Sets in accordance with established policies procedures standards and regulatory requirements.Contributes to the creation and ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures relating to the stroke program and assures compliance within the assigned sites.Develops (in conjunction with interdisciplinary team) plans and procedures to foster stroke prevention/treatment/rehabilitation programs address efficacy/cost effectiveness of services provided enhance customer service and generate increased volumes/revenue.Monitors adherence to standard stroke orders nursing pathways and protocols; elevates identified issues per established procedures.Contributes to the development of program metrics and implementation of methodologies for collecting tracking and reporting data that reflects significant program elements/accomplishments/barriers.Job RequirementsRequiredAssociates degree in Nursing and five years of related clinical work experience including two years nursing experience in ICU/Emergency Department setting and/or management of stroke patients that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.Active Washington State Registered Nurse LicenseBasic Life Support - CPRCertified Stroke Registered Nurse within 12 - monthsPreferredBachelors degree in Nursing Healthcare Administration or related field.Required Experience:Manager Key Skills Project Management Methodology,Project / Program Management,Program Management,Management Experience,Microsoft Powerpoint,Project Management,Microsoft Project,Budgeting,DoD Experience,Leadership Experience,Supervising Experience,Contracts Employment Type : Unclear Experience: years Vacancy: 1
