Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Structural Design EngineerJob DescriptionA Design Engineer role that involves collaborating with senior engineers to develop designs for signage and architectural branding elements. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a fundamental understanding and appreciation of building construction and metal fabrication.ResponsibilitiesInterface with Project Management to define customer requirements.Develop fabrication methods based on renderings of the final product.Work closely with CADD Designers to fully document designs.Resolve fabrication issues on the shop floor.Update designs based on shop or engineering feedback.Apply consistent logic to standardize sign families.Reference past jobs to adapt or reuse design details.Support Project Management in resolving technical issues in Production and in the field.Essential SkillsExperience with technical drawings and AutoCAD or SolidWorks.Strong analytical skills and understanding of materials and manufacturing or construction.Effective and practical design skills.Understanding of UL48 and applicable Building Codes.Experience in structural engineering and design.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred knowledge of fabrication details, machine, and material limitations.Ability to interpret architectural and structural building drawings.Project risk recognition and mitigation skills.Manufacturing experience.Work EnvironmentThe position involves working primarily in an office setting, with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor to review products.
