Structural Fitter at Pridestaff

We are seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to join our conveyor manufacturing team. The Structural Fitter is responsible for interpreting fabrication drawings and assembling structural steel components, conveyor frames, supports, and chutes according to engineering specifications.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45-50 per week

1st shift - 6 AM - 4:30 pm (or later depending on production)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details. Lay out, fit, and assemble steel components.
• Verify dimensions and alignment using tape measures, squares, and levels. Prepare materials by grinding, beveling, cutting, and performing tack welding.
• Safely operate saws, ironworkers, magnetic drills, grinders, and overhead cranes.
• Inspect fitted assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards. Maintain a clean workspace and strictly follow OSHA safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of structural fitting, fabrication, or steel assembly experience.
• Advanced blueprint reading skills and strong knowledge of steel types and sizes.
• Proficient with precise measuring tools and geometrical shapes.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in conveyor system manufacturing or material handling equipment.
• Welding experience or certification.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, varying temperatures) wearing standard PPE.

• Type: Full-time (Overtime and weekends may be required based on production demands).
