Job DescriptionJob DescriptionStructural Steel Fabrication Welder (MIG/Flux Core) – Richmond, VAA day in this role starts early and finishes when the work is done right.What a typical day looks likeAt 6:00 AM, you review a set of blueprints and mark out railings, stringers, and door jambs for the day’s builds. You choose material, cut each piece to measurement using shop equipment and hand tools, and dry-fit the assembly before welding. Using MIG/Flux Core processes on structural steel, you lay clean, consistent beads, then verify fit-up against spec. By the end of the day, you inspect each finished component for accuracy and quality.Core responsibilitiesBuild structural and architectural components: railings, stair stringers, and door jambsInterpret blueprints/schematics and translate them into precise measurementsCut your own parts using fabrication machinery and hand toolsPerform MIG/Flux Core welding on structural steel assembliesFit, square, and assemble to specificationInspect completed work for dimensional accuracy and finish qualityWhat you bringHands-on MIG/Flux Core welding experienceProven ability to read blueprints and follow detailed measurementsStrong fabrication fundamentals and metal-cutting proficiencyBackground as a fabricator or welder in a similar environmentCompensation & schedulePay: $18–$23/hrShift: 6:00 AM – Finish (Daily OT Possible)Ready to put your fabrication skills to work on structural steel projects that demand precision?
