Structural Welder at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Structural Welder
We are seeking skilled structural welders to join our team. As a structural welder, you will be responsible for welding proficiently using Mig and Flux, interpreting blueprints, reading tape measures, setting ampage and voltage on welding machines, and grinding welds. The ability to weld in a 3G (vertical) position is essential.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and drawings, taking or reading measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications, such as cutting material with powered saws to match measurements.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamp pieces.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
- Maintain welding equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Mig and Flux welding.
- Ability to read blueprints and tape measures.
- Knowledge and ability to set ampage and voltage on welding machines.
- Experience in welding vertical, overhead, and horizontal positions.
- At least 1 year of experience in a structural welding shop.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to pass a 3G Mig weld on a 3/8 plate on carbon.
- Experience with 4G Mig weld on 24-inch wide 1/4 inch plate.
- Proficiency in fabrication and production.

Work Environment
Enjoy a structured work schedule during the first shift from 5am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
