Job Description

As a Structures Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing heavy structural repairs, maintenance, and modifications on F/A-18 Aircraft. You will utilize carbide drills and piloted reamers for composite and titanium drilling, and for aluminum, high-speed steel and cobalt drills will be used.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy structural repairs and maintenance on F/A-18 Aircraft.
  • Execute modifications on aircraft to enhance structural integrity.
  • Utilize specialized tools such as carbide drills and piloted reamers.
  • Conduct depot-level maintenance, including equipment overhauls.
  • Apply sheet-metal modifications and structural repairs.
  • Address corrosion on aircraft structures.

Essential Skills

  • 3-8+ years of recent experience in depot-level/heavy checks on aircraft. Open to any on aircraft sheet metal experience does not need to be fighter or DOD in general
  • Proficiency in structural repairs and modifications.
  • Experience with military aircraft, particularly the F/A-18, is advantageous.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with jet aircraft and structural sheet metal.
  • Familiarity with Air Force, Navy, or Marines operations.
  • Experience with fighter jets such as the F-18 Super Hornet.

Work Environment

The work environment includes an open-bay, non-climate controlled setting. The role offers two shifts: 1st Shift from Monday to Friday, 5:30 am to 2:30 pm, and 2nd Shift from Monday to Friday, 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with optional overtime. Flexibility to work any shift is required. An annual $100 expense for steel-toed shoes is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Harbor, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
