JOB TITLE: Structures Mechanic - Heavy Checks LOCATION: Bridgeport WV PAY RATE: $33-34/hour We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client. Job Details: Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension) Industry: Aerospace / Defense / Aviation Benefits: Medical dental and vision (Cigna) Perks: Bonus potential Priority access via Tier 1 supplier Openings Nationwide: Thousands of opportunities across the U.S. Qualifying Questions: Are you a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary Summary: Perform thorough inspections of aircraft structures identifying and documenting damage or wear Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on various structural components (wing fuselage tail etc.) Fabricate or modify structural components and aircraft parts Perform minor structural repairs on composite components both attached and detached Conduct mechanical and electrical removals and installations as required Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals blueprints and technical specifications Assist with complex structural repairs on and off aircraft Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and regulatory compliance Inspect confined areas of the airframe Stay current on industry trends technological advancements and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or equivalent Corporate jet or commercial aircraft experience preferred CRJ airframe experience a plus MRO experience a plus Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) a plus 3 years of relevant experience preferred Completion of Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent preferred FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License preferred High school diploma or equivalent required Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings Possess a basic set of tools Effective verbal and written communication skills Comfortable with shift work in a 24/7 operation including 12-hour days nights and weekends Comfortable using technology and entering maintenance actions into a computer-based system Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge if applicable Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
