SPRINGFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLSSpringfield MassachusettsTITLE: Student Assignment Services (SAS) CoordinatorDEPARTMENT: Student Assignment Services (SAS) Center 91 School StreetFY 26 ANNUAL SALARY:$56053SCHEDULE:Full-Time 37.5 hours per week some evenings and weekends requiredGENERAL SUMMARY: The Coordinator is responsible for supporting district student assignments address changes and enrollment priorities by providing operational and technical support to families schools and all other SAS-driven process stakeholders.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe above position is illustrative of the tasks and responsibilities. The description does not constitute an employment agreement between the Springfield Public Schools and the employee and is subject to change by the Springfield Public Schools as the needs and requirements of the change of the job.Coordinate enrollment and assignment of specific SPS student populationsDaily operation of districts address change and assignment processesCollect organize and report relevant address change/ enrollment student dataEnter and maintain data in student information system; analyze data to formulate long-term recommendations for address changes/ enrollment processesOperate systems of communication with all SAS stakeholdersUtilize expertise to offer training sessions to SPS staff membersCollaborate with the districts Attendance team on the verification of student addresses and changesSupport families with accessing/ navigating the districts address change online systemOperate SASs records request processWork in collaboration with other SAS Center teams to effectively support promotion of district enrollment processes initiatives and eventsPerform other duties as assigned by SAS administrationMINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceRequires 2-3 years of experience in the fieldRelevant Bachelors Degree required or educational requirement may be substituted for at least 5 years of experience in relevant fieldIndividual ContributorResponsible for coordinating a function or operational effortPosition requires some autonomy for decision making and independent judgementPossess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work cooperatively with families community partners and school personnelProficiency in computer operations including but not limited to Microsoft software programs (Excel Word Access etc.) Experience with student information (PowerSchool) and financial (MUNIS) systems highly desirable.Knowledge of program management monitoring and evaluationAbility to work with parents administrators teachers other staff and members of the communityKNOWLEDGE and ABILITIESKnowledge of Springfield Public School district processes policies and proceduresKnowledge of different areas of grade levels (grades credits and discipline)Ability to handle common inquiries or complaintsAbility to respond to questions from students faculty staff and visitorsAbility to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with staff peers supervisors or managers in the work unit as well as with staff of outside entities and other individuals as applicable to the essential duties and responsibilitiesAbility to provide positive and effective customer serviceAbility to adapt to and accommodate new methods and proceduresAbility to work independently or as a member of a teamUtilize listening skills work under pressure address conflict and solve problemsAbility to read analyze and interpret standard policies procedures and regulationsAbility to effectively present information using attention to detail and accuracyAbility to exercise good judgment set priorities and meet deadlinesAbility to operate standard office equipment such as a computer keyboard monitor copies scanners and telephoneAbility to interact with and support members of diverse populationsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSExerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally a negligible amount of force frequently and/or or constantly having to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.WORKING ENVIRONMENTThis position requires employees to be in an indoor office environment.
