The Student ITS Support Technician provides front-line technology assistance and concierge administrative support for UWG Newnan. This role supports students, faculty, staff, and visitors by delivering excellent customer service, troubleshooting basic technology issues, and assisting with general office operations. As the first point of contact at the Newnan TechWest, the student employee is expected to present a professional and welcoming demeanor at all times. Business casual attire is required during scheduled shifts.Responsibilities Technology Support (TechWest Services):Troubleshoot and resolve issues with personal laptops, desktop computers, iMacs, MacBooks, and smart devices.Assist students with OneLogin, wireless connectivity, and basic system access issues.Scan and remove viruses, malware, and other security threats.Install software updates and assist with application setup.Replace basic hardware components such as RAM and hard drives.Reinstall operating systems as needed.Support limited hardware repairs (e.g., select laptop screen repairs).When parts are required, assist students in identifying and purchasing needed components; installation performed at no labor charge.Front Desk & Administrative Support:Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner; serve as the first point of contact for UWG Newnan.Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls; take messages as appropriate.Provide accurate information, refer inquiries, and direct visitors to appropriate departments or staff members.Maintain campus directories, lobby presence, and general front-desk organization.Assist staff with projects, events, conferences, and meeting setup/breakdown.Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and document preparation.Support higher-level academic and administrative processes as assigned.Required Qualifications Must be current UWG enrolled student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with 2.75 grade-point average.Strong customer service and communication skills.Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting concepts.Ability to follow technical instructions and maintain confidentiality.Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained. Physical Requirements/ Working ConditionsSufficient stamina to walk, stand, bend, twist, kneel, crawl, and squat to connect, install, and troubleshoot computers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
