Job Title: Student Assistant - Student Leadership Programs Location: Middle GA State University Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 288296 About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary In this position, student assistants will work with the Center for Career and Leadership Development (CCLD) Coordinator for Student Leadership Programs to promote and aid student leadership organizations as well as encourage leadership development in students and other clients.Responsibilities Assist the Coordinator for Student Leadership Programs, the CCLD Director, and other CCLD staff members in communicating and promoting leadership and development opportunities to students and clients.Assist with daily office operations including, but not limited to answering phones, scheduling appointments, making copies, distributing mail, assisting walk-ins, assisting with the professional closet and taking headshots, etc.Assist in planning and working leadership development events and conferences such as Student Expos, orientations, etc. and setting up information tables.Assist in development and dissemination of leadership services on social media.Assist with digital communication by managing social media calendar and posts to promote events, career and leadership education topics, and communicate other CCLD activities.Attend and participate in Knights LEAD and Emerging Leader sessions.Collaborate with Resident Assistants for the Living-Learning Community.Provide administrative support when needed including answering phone calls, taking messages, assisting walk-ins, etc.Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and staff in both oral and written forms about Handshake, interviewing, professional attire, career fair prep, LinkedIn, job search, and other services. Required Qualifications Minimum 2.5 GPACurrently enrolled Middle Georgia State University student with a minimum of 6 credit hoursCritical and creative thinking skillsOral and written communication skillsAttention to detailPreferred Qualifications Customer service experienceKnowledge of computer programs such as Adobe creative suite, social media platforms, Canva, Microsoft Office, etc. Event and/or program planning experienceKnowledge of university policies and proceduresKnowledge of principles of leadershipPrevious involvement in student leadership at the university levelUSG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
