Job Details Kalispell MT Part Time High School $14.00 - $15.00 Hourly StudentJob Description DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB:Culinary Department Arts & Technology Building FVCC Kalispell CampusELIGIBILITY:Open to all current FVCC Students enrolled in a minimum six of credits for 2025/2026 Academic Year.START DATE:This position will start in Fall 2025 / Spring 2026WORK SCHEDULE:Dates and Times vary with each semester but will include working weekends and eveningsDRESS CODE:Black pants and a white or black shirt or Chef Uniform. Gloves used for food handling are provided by the supervisorPOSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:Supports the Culinary Arts Department as needed for catering eventsPOSITION DUTIES:Performs dishwashing of cooking utensils and food prep equipment dishware flatware stemware and pots and pans using a dish machine manual process and three sink set-upReturns clean items to appropriate storage locationsEmpties trashSweeps and mops floorsMaintains cleanliness and sanitation of work station and kitchen areasPrep and polish service ware for eventsServes guests in professional settingPreps and cooks food according to ServSafe guidelinesMaintains cleanliness of storage rooms before during and after eventsMay perform other similar tasks as requestedReports to the Culinary Arts Program Director or DesigneeMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester andBe a minimum of 18 years of age and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds andAbility to work with minimum supervision and is self-motivated andAbility to problem-solve and follow directions and to safely use sanitizing chemicals andPossess a cooperative spirit in working with peers supervisors students and the publicSTUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Communication customer service critical thinking and effective reasoning collaboration professionalism teamworkPREDICTED OUTCOME: Practical competence customer service critical thinking collaboration communicating effectively demonstrating professionalism and teamworkSTUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule effective communication/interpersonal skills and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: FVCC is an equal opportunity employer.
