Student Digital Content & Web Design Assistant Internal Project (Student Wage) Federal Work Study at University of Virginia

Are you a creative thinker with a passion for web design and a knack for turning information into engaging digital experiences Student Financial Services (SFS) is seeking a motivated creative and tech-savvy student (work-study eligible) to join the Compliance and Training team in developing a new staff intranet. This position is project-based and the student selected will complete their role upon completion of the project. We expect this project to take 45-50 hours but the actual timeline will vary based on the individual.This is your chance to contribute to a meaningful project that will enhance internal communication and collaboration across SFS so we can better serve students and families!The intranet is a private internal website designed to centralize communication streamline access to internal resources and support staff collaboration. As part of this project youll focus heavily on the design and user interface helping to transform essential content such as financial aid processes professional development resources onboarding/offboarding materials and community tools into a visually appealing and user-friendly platform.This is a great opportunity to apply your design and technical skills in a real-world setting and make a lasting impact on how staff access and engage with key information.A strong candidate for this position would have the following traits:Interest in web design and digital content creationFamiliarity with Drupal and other basic web design tools or platformsAbility to think creatively and present information in a visually engaging wayStrong organizational skills and attention to detailComfortable working independently and taking initiativeStrong writing skills with the ability to communicate ideas clearlyDesire to build relationships with SFS staff members to enhance collaboration and impactEnthusiasm for improving staff resources and enhancing user experienceInterested students should upload to Workday 1) a resume/work history 2) A brief (no more than one page) letter of interest that highlights your background skills and what draws you to this opportunity.Work will be almost exclusively remote with occasional requests for in-person activities in Carruthers Hall (up by the Barracks Road Shopping Center on the Gold bus line).Questions about the position can be directed to Kelly Roeschley: The pay for this position will be $17.00 per hour at a minimum of 5 hours per week.The start date of the position will be December 1st 2025 or later for the selected candidate; the position will end May 8 2026 or whenever the project is complete.This position will remain open for applications for up to30 daysfrom the posting date.
