Position Title:Student Employee, Agriculture Lab/Office AssistantJob Description:Assist Agriculture program faculty and staff with Agriculture Lab/Office Duties and RecruitingPOSITION TITLE: Student Employee, Agriculture Lab/Office AssistantSTATUS: Part timeDEPARTMENT: Agriculture, Horticulture, and Veterinary TechDIVISION: Academic AffairsCLASSIFICATION: Non-exemptHIRING RANGE: $15.00 per hour(Position is FWS Eligible)ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Assist with set up, dismantling, and organization of laboratory spaces.2. Typing, filing, organizing, and other office area functions.3. Hosting potential students for tours while they are on campus.4. Assist with the organization and implementation of departmental recruitment activities.5. Perform related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Must be enrolled in 6 credits of coursework at JJC during fall/spring semester.2. Minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.3. Enrolled in an Agriculture degree program or have a strong agriculture career interest4. Willingness to work flexible schedule.5. Good oral/written communication, organization and time management skills6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Some experience in the agriculture industry.2. Driver’s license.3. Self-starter, able to work independently.4. Willingness to work evenings or weekends. 5. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.6. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
