Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelinesSet up and run tool room equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize outputVerify process capability after a modification has been madeEngineer creative solutions to manufacturing needsEngineer design and repair tooling: jigs fixtures die/punch specialized equipment and machinesUpdate any modifications to tooling using CAD software and document any changes made to the original tool designDocument projects accordingly: including cost of material components & labor timeResponsible for ordering material and componentsProgram and operate CNC machines using CAM software or manual programming for tool room and production equipmentPartner with employees from departments throughout the facility to efficiently find solutions and resolve issuesKeep work area clean and orderly using 5S (standardize sustain sort set in order and shine)Continuously support and improve the departments key measuresUnderstand and follow ISO procedures within the Tooling department for activities such as documentationContinuously maintain key components in PM & supply cabinetApply continuous improvements to existing processes or tooling when possibleConsistently work and communicate with other employees throughout the department and companyCross train within the Tooling and Die Shop departments to learn and develop skills on a variety of machines and equipmentAssist in the training of employees related to tooling as neededAssist in other departments as directedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:High school diploma or equivalent degreeAssociates degree in Machine Tool Technology or related programExperience:3 years of tool making set-up programming and CNC machine operating experience preferredOther required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Strong computer skills (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint)Ability to recognize safety concernsAbility to utilize the proper inspection equipmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsBasic math skillsAbility to properly use appropriate measuring toolsExcellent blueprint reading skills with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancingTeamworkCNC CAD and CAM programmingAdvanced excel and access computer skillsBENEFITSA.I.
