Student Engineering Intern Water Resources at RE/SPEC Inc.

RESPEC has an opening for a temporary part-time water resources intern in the Water Division in our Anchorage AK office. The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer working alongside and receiving mentorship from a licensed engineer. This position does not offer remote work.This position involves work tasks that support planning designing and constructing various water resources engineering projects. These projects may include work in the fields of stormwater water and wastewater and regulatory compliance. Interdisciplinary work with environmental science and transportation staff may also occur. Work responsibilities and activities may include:Hydrologic/hydraulic analyses calculations and designApplication of standard engineering techniques and proceduresPreparation of reports figures and technical documentsComputer-aided design/drafting (AutoCAD)GIS analysisPerform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or project managerConnect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through internship programPerform limited field work as required by current project loadPerform other duties as neededQualifications : The ideal candidate will have the following:Currently enrolled in a bachelor of science degree program in civil or water resources engineeringPossess strong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to contribute and work well on a teamAttention to detailMicrosoft Office proficiency (e.g. Word Excel and Outlook)The candidate must have a valid drivers license and be capable of field workPreferred:3 years completed toward degree with 3.0 GPAKnowledge/experience/coursework in AutoCAD (or similar software) and/or GISPreference given to local candidatesAdditional Information : Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience range is $21-$26 DOEQ; plus statutory insurance requirements.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Remote Work : NoEmployment Type : Intern Key Skills Anti Money Laundering,Access Control System,Catering,Assessment,Communication Experience: years Vacancy: 1
