Job Details Kalispell MT Part Time High School $14.00 - $15.00 Hourly Student - Work StudyJob Description DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB:Ross Hall 103 FVCC Kalispell Campus Chemistry DepartmentELIGIBILITY:Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:Academic Calendar Year 2025/2026WORK SCHEDULE:Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May work up to 19 hours per week.DRESS CODE:Casual with appropriate coverage; requires wearing closed-toe shoes and personal protective equipment (PPE) in lab setting;required safety equipment is provided by supervisorPOSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:Under the minimal supervision supports Chemistry Department Laboratory and supervisorPOSITION DUTIES:Cleans organizes and maintains order in the chemistry lab and stockroom; and includes cleaning glasswareAssists with updating chemical inventorySets up and takes down chemistry labs as directedSet up and take down forensic labs as directedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester andMust be 18 years of age or older andAbility to follow instructions and safety procedures/protocols andBasic lab and technology skills andAbility to work independently with a minimal level of supervision as well as in a team environment andAbility to problem-solve and be self-motivated; andOrganizational skills and attention to details andAbility and willingness to provide quality customer service; ability to demonstrate a cooperative spirit in working with students faculty and supervisorPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Chemistry and forensic or Lab related course historySTUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Communication critical thinking effective reasoning planning lab technology lab safety adherence customer servicePREDICTED OUTCOME:Practical competence customer service critical thinking collaboration communicating effectively technological competence demonstrating professionalismSTUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule effective communication/interpersonal skills and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: FVCC is an equal opportunity employer.
