Job Title: Student Life Specialist Location: West Campus Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 1008915 Job Details Job FamilySTAFF - Support Non-Exempt (SNE)Grade12Salary$22.95 - $27.45DepartmentStudent LifeReports ToDirectorClosing DateOpen Until FilledFLSA StatusNon-ExemptFirst Review DateNovember 10, 2025Position Overview The Student Life Specialist develops, implements, and supports the program in helping students achieve academic success and enhance their personal and educational development.What you will be doing Serves as the Student Government Association (SGA) advisorAttends all official meetings, related conferences, retreats and events (including evening and weekends) as appropriateTravels in evening hours and/or weekendsAdvises and coordinates activities of the SGA that are part of the Government’s official function on campusAssists the SGA members with planning and operation of SGAAdvises members on individual and committee basis of the planning and operation of Student Life Councils including the Council of Student Organizations (CSO) and the Campus Activities Board (CAB) and SGAWorks with students to set short and long-term goals for the CSO, CAB and SGAOversees assigned budget and financial transactionsSelects students to participate in CSO, CAB and SGA related activities and travelAssists with operation of the MDC card program and distribution of student parking decals Assists with general operation of the department, supporting day, evening and/or weekend activitiesPrepares reports regarding SGA eventsProcesses payroll time and attendance for the departmentProcesses financial transactions such as disbursement request and departmental requisitionsServes on Campus and College committees as appointedPerforms other duties as assigned What you need to succeed Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience in a student services college environment or related function; or Associates degree with seven (7) years of experience in a student services college environment or related functionAll degrees must be from a regionally accredited institutionPossess excellent supervisory, leadership, organizational, and problem solving skillsPossess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)Ability to promote and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work well under limited time constraintsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departments, external contractors and vendors, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekendsPreferences Certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, will receive preference and priority for this job vacancy.
