Salary/Position Classification$14.00 hourly Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)10 hours per week100% Remote Work Availability: NoHybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): NoPurpose of PositionThis is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in the construction assembly and installation of theatrical sets for department productionsOperate basic hand and power tools safely under supervisionHelp with scenic painting surface preparation and finishing tasksSupport the load-in and strike of productions including moving scenery and organizing materialsMaintain a clean and organized shop including sweeping sorting lumber and returning toolsFollow all shop safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipmentCollaborate with technical staff designers and fellow students to complete projects on scheduleAssist with repairs and modifications to existing scenery as neededParticipate in training sessions to learn new skills and improve shop efficiencyMinimum RequirementsAbility to follow verbal and written instructions and work collaboratively with shop staffBasic knowledge of or willingness to learn hand and power tool operation (e.g. drills saws sanders)Ability to lift and carry materials up to 4050 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending standing or climbing laddersCommitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following shop safety protocolsPunctuality reliability and strong attention to detailSuccessful completion of a Criminal History Background CheckIn compliance with federal law all persons hired will be required to verify identityand eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.To ApplyFor full consideration applications must be received by the closing date and include the following materials: Please include in the application if you are currently or have in the past 12 months been employed with the University of North Dakota the North Dakota University System or any other North Dakota State agency.
