JOB DESCRIPTION
Sub Arc Welder
The Sub Arc Welder will be responsible for welding the inside and outside seams of industrial steel tanks and pressure vessels once they have been formed into shape. This role requires setting up and operating arc welding machines efficiently. Knowledge of Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) and its various names such as Arc Welders, SAW, Sub Arc, Submerged Arc Welding Operator, pressure vessel welder, fabrication welder, automatic welder, and structural welder is essential.
Responsibilities
- Weld inside and outside seams of steel tanks and pressure vessels.
- Set up and operate arc welding machines.
- Ensure efficient operation of welding equipment.
- Follow blueprints and technical instructions for welding tasks.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in CNC, Sub Arc, and Welding.
- 3+ years of experience running submerged Arc Welder.
- 3+ years of flux core welding experience.
- 3+ years of industrial welding experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Machine setup and operation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to pass Flux core weld test and sub arc weld test.
- Experience in heavy industrial environments, shipbuilding, or working with pressure vessels and pipes.

Work Environment
Night Shift M-Th 4:30pm to 3:15am, Friday - 2:30pm to 11:15pm. If working Saturdays - 12pm to 6pm. First Shift 6am to 2:45pm. Will train on first regardless of shift schedule. The work environment is a heavy industrial setting in an older facility with an open-air shop that is covered. Conditions can be hot, cold, dusty, and dirty, with ongoing upgrades to the facility.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
