Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Substance Abuse Therapist / Licensed TherapistPosition Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (On-Site)Locations: Multiple (Virginia)Job Summary:We are seeking compassionate and skilled Substance Abuse Therapists to provide essential counseling services in accordance with policy, state, and federal regulations. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will foster a supportive environment for patients seeking recovery, ensuring a safe and balanced atmosphere for healing.Key Responsibilities:Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized patient care plansConduct comprehensive assessments utilizing ASAM criteria for appropriate patient placement and treatment justificationProvide crisis intervention, service coordination, and counseling support for individuals with substance use disordersMaintain thorough and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plansAdvocate for patient needs within the community, including housing, probation, and social servicesMonitor patient condition and adjust treatment plans to ensure the best therapeutic outcomesAdhere to professional and ethical standards, including compliance with NAADAC Code of EthicsQualifications & Requirements:Education: Master of Social Work (MSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW - VA only)Experience: Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health conditionsLicensure/Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required; must meet and maintain applicable state licensure requirementsWork Conditions & Expectations:Ability to work in both sedentary and ambulatory environments, with occasional lifting (30+ lbs)Must maintain emotional stability while working with mentally and physically ill patientsAdherence to infection control and workplace safety protocols, including Universal PrecautionsParticipate in training, professional development, and competency evaluationsAttend regular staff meetings and contribute to program development initiativesAvailable Locations:Abingdon, VA (High Priority)Duffield, VA (High Priority)Wytheville, VA (High Priority)The position offers standard benefits, which will be discussed during the interview process.
