This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties knowledge or abilities associated with this classification but is intended to reflect the principal job elements accurately).E Essential FunctionsProvide quality child care and a safe and loving environment for the children in the CDC. EAssist with planning and implementing a variety of activities to meet the needs and interests of the children; read stories sing songs play games and participate in other activities with children. ESupervise children in outdoor play activities; implement indoor play and activities during inclement weather. EProvide for the safety of the children as required; respond to a childs needs and problems in a patient caring and sensitive manner. EAssist with snack and lunch time as assigned; escort children to the cafeteria for breakfast as assigned; clean up eating areas and wash childrens hands and faces after play times and meals as needed. EProvide for the physical needs of the children. EProvide guidance assistance and encouragement with various projects; assist in promoting a healthy self-image and self-esteem. EObserve behavior of children and monitor for signs of neglect or suspected abuse; report such concerns according to established guidelines. EMaintain a clean safe sanitary and orderly child care environment; clean set up and set out toys and other materials.
