Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryBrilliant Beginnings Learning Center is looking for qualified, energetic, and fun individuals to implement a Christian-based learning curriculum to our brilliant students, aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. Applicants must be friendly, able to provide exceptional customer service to parents as well ashave a great love for children.Substitutes will be called by staff directly. These requests can come in anywhere from two weeks to 24 hours before the shift begins.While you are not required to accept every job offered, we do ask that you aim to accept at least 50% of the requests you receive. Applicant must be highly stable and dependable individuals interested in making an impact on our future.To be considered for this position, you must meet all state licensing requirements listed below:Must be at least 18 years of age, must have HS diploma, college transcripts or degree.Must have experience working with children, can successfully complete a Virginia State Background Check and would be will to take a PPD screening. Part-timePay: $14.50 - $19.50 per hourDutiesCoordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standardsLead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.Maintain accurate records, forms and files.Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.RequirementsMust have HS diploma, college transcripts or degreeMinimum of 6 months of professional child care experience.Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.A strong understanding of child development.Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels.
