Substitute Teacher Del Rio at Heritage Academy Charter Schools

Position Summary:Teaches and facilitates learning for students in a Heritage Academy schools maintaining academic progress discipline and records. Works with parents and students to provide and implement individualized education to meet the needs of all students.Qualifications:Teaching experience in a Public School is preferred.Education/CertificationPrefer a Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University and meet requirements for HQ status: (1) Texas State Teachers Certification in Elementary EC-6; (2) passing score on an ExCET/TExES core academic area examination.Teachers Certification recommended but not required.Minimum of 60 college credits from an appropriately accredited college/university (Preferred)ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of the students.Implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular Instructor.Ensure that district policies are observed during all activities.Create a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning.Keep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times.Be familiar with fire exits fire drill procedures severe storm and tornado warning procedures. Review notes for the day take attendance and follow the lesson plans of the teacher.Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances. Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment.Report for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment including planning time of the teacher.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Abide bystate statutes school board policies and regulations.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.Leave detailed notes for teacher on any issues experienced during the day.Other duties as assigned by the Principal or the Substitute OfficeAll equipment required to perform jobs duties and tasks previously describedPhysical / Environmental Factors:The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
