Our 60-bed medically monitored program supports people through a vulnerable 410 day stay offering stabilization safety and a chance to reset. As a SUDs Counselor you become the steady guide in that moment assessing needs building motivation and connecting each person to the right next step in their treatment journey.What Youll DoLead ASAM assessments that shape each persons care plan.Use motivational interviewing to spark readiness and build trust.Work side-by-side with clinical staff nursing and subacute techs to align on goals.Coordinate referrals to treatment programs and community supports so patients leave with a clear path forward.Facilitate groups participate in clinical meetings and support direct patient care.Keep documentation sharp and timely to ensure continuity and quality.Strengthen relationships with community partners and streamline access to services.What You BringStrong counseling skills with individuals and groups.Comfort working with adults experiencing homelessness withdrawal instability and high acuity.Experience in motivational interviewing and promoting change talk.Knowledge of SUDs co-occurring disorders crisis intervention and stages of change.An ability to communicate clearly with clients and multidisciplinary partners.Respect steadiness and genuine belief in recovery even on the hardest days.What Makes This Role MeaningfulYou meet people at one of the most pivotal moments in their lives.You help remove barriers and open doors to treatment that sticks.You work in a tight supportive team committed to dignity and healing.Every shift you see the impact of your skills compassion and presence.Location: Hooper Detox CenterSchedule: Monday - Thursday (7:30am - 6:00pm)Compensation:CADC-1: $25.76 - $33.49CADC-2 or 3: $28.40 - $36.92Minimum Qualifications:Must have one of the following :CADC-1CADC-2CADC-32 years of delivering SUDs treatment HIGHLY preferredPreferred case management or referral specialist experience in addition to A&D Counseling.Ability to work with multi-disciplinary team.Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent.Current CPR certification required prior to start.Must have current Adult First Aid Certification prior to start date.Ability to adhere to Central City Concerns drug-free workplace which encourages a safe healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988. An employee shall not in the workplace unlawfully manufacture distribute dispense possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.Must pass a pre-employment drug screen TB test and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.The OAR prohibits A&D program staff from having within the previous 3 years a DUI conviction or diversion a felony conviction or a conviction under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.Must generally have the ability to walk bend stoop kneel squat twist reach pull and lift heavy objects and climb stairs with reasonable or no accommodation.Must adhere to agencys non-discrimination policies.Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds religious views political affiliation cultural backgrounds life-styles and sexual orientations and treat each individual with respect and dignity.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform ASAM assessments and review assessments to assess individuals needs.Interview and interact with clients to increase motivation.Work with Hooper Clinical Team Nursing and Subacute Technicians to accomplish specific need objectives wellness and recovery goals in conjunction with clients discharge plan.Refer individuals to appropriate treatment programs and community support for follow-up care.Facilitate patient access for direct contact to service agencies.Participate in direct treatment of individuals by attending clinical staff meeting.Coordinate transportation for individuals as needed.Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities as directed.Work directly with supervisor for ongoing program and individual development.Maintain client records and clinical documentation for evaluation and program planning.Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality privacy and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners and outside providers patient confidentiality agreements including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department as well as to your supervisor or their designee.Conduct educational groups as needed.Attend outside meetings and build relationships with community partners and programs.Develop resource information to be used by the team.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated skills in counseling techniques with individuals and groups.Demonstrated knowledge of community and social service agencies.Experienced in Motivational Interviewing with ability to promote Change Talk.Knowledge of substance use disorders co-occurring disorders and treatment modalities.Knowledge of crisis intervention methods and de-escalation techniques.Knowledge of stages of change and strengths perspectives.Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.Ability to effectively communicate with clients co-workers medical personnel police merchants and the public at large.Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary documentation.Ability to provide leadership.Benefits at Central City ConcernWe offer incredible benefits to our employees including an extensive total rewards package competitive compensation medical dental vision Student loan repayment options and retirement savings matching plans!Generous paid time off plan beginning at 4 weeks of PTO accrual per year!
