RubinBrown has revenue of approximately $240 million with 1000 team members across locations in Chicago Denver Kansas City Las Vegas Nashville and St. Louis.OverviewThe manager will work with other SALT professionals on all phases of state and local tax compliance consulting and planning services for clients.Major ResponsibilitiesReview income and franchise tax returns and other state and local tax returnsResearch and consult on various state and local tax mattersUtilize tax-related software to prepare review and process returnsRespond to inquiries from tax authoritiesReview of client documentation and related SALT workpapers for accuracy and SALT consultingGeneral responsibility for supervising client SALT engagementsTeam member developmentMaintain a good working relationship with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and provide tax servicesWork closely with partners to promptly resolve client matters or tax issues encountered in preparation processGain understanding of client operations processes and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagementsAttend professional development and training sessions on a regular basisParticipate in firm practice development activitiesMaintain awareness of industry trends and governmental regulationsSome travel will be requiredPreferred Experience/Background/SkillsBachelors degree in Accounting (preferred) or related degreeExperience in public accounting or corporate taxDesire to attain CPA or other similar professional designationStrong technical skills with an emphasis on state and local income taxes including the ability to effectively utilize technology and the commitment to learning in the technology environmentExcellent supervisory analytical and leadership abilityHave the ability to meet challenging client requirements provide services and possess strong communication interpersonal analytical and research abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking ConditionsThe typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Ability to work extra hours February through AprilTravel for this position will be minimalAbility to sit for long periods of timeAbility to move throughout officeAbility to lift carry push pull up to 10 poundsAbility to communicate with clients team members etc...Colorado Illinois and Nevada Salary Statement:The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential applicants who will work or reside in the state of Colorado or Nevada if selected for the role.
